ABOUT THE OWNER

Kaha Guliashvili
A decade ago, upon arriving in the UK, my mind immediately turned to business ideas rooted in my passions. With a lifelong connection to winemaking dating back to my early childhood in Georgia, wine emerged as the perfect conduit to bridge my homeland with the UK. Georgian wine, with its rich history and distinct flavours, presented a unique opportunity to introduce something new and authentic to the UK market.

The journey with GeoNaturals began amidst the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Seeing this as an opportune moment rather than a setback, I navigated through registrations, permissions, and licensing to bring Georgian wines to the UK in 2021. Before importing, I meticulously sought out small and medium-sized winemakers across Georgia renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship. Visiting their vineyards, sampling their wines, and ensuring adherence to traditional methods were crucial steps to guaranteeing authenticity and quality.

At GeoNaturals, we take pride in offering wines that are almost entirely handmade, crafted with minimal intervention and without the use of large-scale machinery or additional chemicals. Each bottle tells a story of Georgian winemaking heritage, delivering a taste that reflects our dedication to preserving tradition and quality.
Winemaking in Georgia is more than just a tradition; it's a cherished heritage passed down through generations. From a young age, I was immersed in this rich cultural practice, observing my grandfather and father as they meticulously tended to the vines and crafted wine. Those memories of harvesting grapes alongside them are some of my fondest and most memorable.

In Georgia, grape harvest is not just a routine activity but a festive occasion celebrated by every family, especially when blessed with a plentiful harvest. Fresh grape juice flows during this time, used to create traditional delights like pelamushi and churchkhela. I vividly recall the excitement of tasting the freshly fermenting wines, a bubbly grape juice that hints at the future wine's potential, enjoyed even by the younger members of the family before it gains alcohol content.

This early exposure instilled in me a deep appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship that defines Georgian winemaking. It inspired me to continue this legacy in a new land, sharing the authentic flavours and cultural richness of Georgian wine with enthusiasts here in the UK through GeoNaturals. Every bottle we offer embodies this tradition, crafted with care and respect for the heritage that shaped me. Join us in celebrating the essence of Georgian winemaking at GeoNaturals, where tradition meets passion in every sip.
