A luxurious Georgian sweet wine from the Kakheti region, Marani Satrapezo Icewine 2018 is made from 100% Rkatsiteli grapes harvested naturally frozen in the vineyard.

Deep golden in colour with bright, glimmering highlights, this wine is rich and intensely aromatic. The nose reveals ripe poached pear, candied berries, honey and golden raisin, creating a beautifully concentrated and indulgent first impression.

On the palate, vibrant fruit flavours and natural sweetness are lifted by fresh citrus character and notes of orange zest. The finish is long, bright and beautifully balanced, with a lingering combination of fruit, sweetness and refreshing acidity.

The grapes are harvested in early December from selected Rkatsiteli vineyards in Kakheti, once temperatures fall to around -9°C and the fruit freezes naturally on the vine. At these temperatures, the water in the grapes crystallises, concentrating the sugars, flavours and acidity that remain.

The frozen grapes are hand-picked early in the morning, carefully sorted and gently pressed before fermenting for around two months in stainless steel tanks at 16–18°C. After fermentation, the wine is held at around 0°C for six months, lightly filtered, bottled and then aged for a further six months in the cellar before release.

A beautifully concentrated dessert wine for those who enjoy rich sweetness balanced by freshness and citrus lift.
